Banner Tutorial

To get started on Arcadexy.com, you first need a banner. The banner to be submitted to the Arcade XY system has to be (animated or not) 468px * 60px. Here is a quick tutorial to help you create your first banner and some starting templates. Enjoy!

1. Start a new 72dpi document in your favourite image edition software and make it 468 pixels large and 60 pixels high. The Arcade XY banner system won't accept your document if it doesn't have these dimensions. In this document the banner should take the full length but doesn't have to take the full height so we can have the logo or text over the banner border.

2. Nex step is to add a background to your banner. We recommend you leave a little white space between the border and your background

3. Now we can add the site name and slogan.You can use 2 different fonts for these two items. But we recommend if you want to add more text, you do not use more than 2 different fonts in the banner and no more than 2 font sizes for the same font. We can finally add the logo, it can be on the left , right, or in the center. To give it more impact, we make it over the banner border, this is why we did not use the full 60px height of the document for the side borders.
